The Design Team of Jerry Rippetoe and Tony Sienicki have been living and working together for more than four decades in such diverse ventures as retailing and operating a country inn. These prior endeavors were instrumental in exposing the public to their design aesthetic and innate talent for interior design, which ultimately led to their first design clients.
Currently the two operate a retail design center on Route One in Cape Neddick, Maine, providing their discerning clients with everything from statuary and unusual accessories to custom furniture and wall treatments. Gathering inspiration from the U.S. and abroad, tj’s specializes in channeling their aesthetic to specific individuals’ taste with, as Rippetoe states, “simple, understated elegance.” This refined approach combined with their signature transitional, classic style has led them to be recognized as luminaries in the design community.
Design Philosophy for Design Home 2013
tj’s designs are not characterized by a particular style or era, but reflect tradition with modern flair. Their transitional approach favors richly, handsome materials and finishes, whereby luxury becomes comfortable and welcoming.
The Palette: Rich jewels tones (aqua, teal and sapphire) sparkle and compliment the water views.
The Style: Transitional classic, combining timeless pieces with unexpected accents.
The Lifestyle: Relaxed luxury, perfect for empty nesters that live along the waterfront.
