Design Team Member Mae Luchini is our newest lighting designer, having begun her career at Lucia as a brand ambassador. In that role, Mae learned about the lighting industry and Lucia Lighting & Design and developed a passion for all things lighting. Prior to embarking on a career in lighting, Mae spent more than 15 years as an early education teacher acquiring deep planning, project management, communication, and client satisfaction skills, which have made her transition to lighting design seamless.  

What was your first job in lighting design?  

As a Design Team Member at Lucia. Assisting clients in choosing decorative lighting, furniture, and accessories to make their spaces visually appealing, comfortable, and functional has been gratifying.

What makes you unique in this profession?  

I work closely with our Creative Director, Eileen Patterson, to bring her furniture and accessory visions to life. So, I’m highly skilled at staging and working with all the current styles to create a comprehensive, finished space with lighting, furniture, and accessories.

What are you currently obsessed with?  

The Crown Major by Nemo because it’s a statement piece that sets the tone for any space.

What makes Lucia Lighting & Design different than the competition?  

The high level of client service, passion, and incredible experience team Lucia has.  

What advice would you give to a candidate who wants to join our team of superstars?  

Be a team player, give 100 percent, and always be willing to learn and grow.
