Lucy "Lucía" Dearborn
After graduating from Salem State College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and a minor in Business, Lucy took a temporary job in a local lighting store. She eventually realized that lighting design is her calling - after all, her initials are L.E.D. and lucía is the Goddess of Light! Over the course of her 15-year career in lighting, she attended numerous lighting seminars and worked with amazing architects and designers, solidifying her passion for lighting design.
Bartending and waitressing for many years through high school and college honed Lucy's remarkable people skills, and reinforced the importance of customer service and hard work. She also coached junior high co-ed soccer, which taught her about patience and discipline.
Owning her own lighting store became her professional dream, so when now-partner David Solimine suggested this venture, she jumped at the chance to be part of a start-up company in the lighting industry.
Lighting, lighting and more lighting is definitely Lucy's passion! Getting to know clients and their families, and working with the great contractors in this area isn't a job to her, as she thrives on the excitement of a new project, and establishing relationships with her clients. Her mission for the lucía team is to make every customer feel special - because you are!
Lucy's supportive husband, Richard Femino, has been behind her every step of the way in her new venture. When they are able to leave their businesses (he owns Richard's Marine Service in Marblehead, MA) for a few days off, they like to ride the coast on Richard's Harley Davidson, or visit Cape Cod during the off-season. She also adores her nieces and nephews - and her dog Jazzy - and spoils them all every chance she gets!
- Favorite room at Lucia: The vestibule when you first walk into the building, because I love to stand beneath the crystal stars (from LBL). Every morning when I come to work I feel like I can reach for the stars!
- Favorite lampshade: Schonbek's black stripe Bocina - because black and vertical stripes are slimming!
